***   ! Hi and Welcome to Pam's Photo Page !  (click here for Hereford Reunion)

April 2009 - See below for latest - Ludlow Primary School reunions with Trevor Henwood (in Melbourne) and Tim Gill (in Ludlow) and if anyone can complete the gaps in the Ludlow Primary School year of 1961 (photo below with lots of names but not all!!) please get in touch!!

Parents Ken Malden and Lilian Joyce Smith - Wedding Day 21 January 1941.

... with thanks to Richard Lee for sending these photos - from 1966 - thanks to PJ for forwarding them xxx

Forward/back to July 2004 - CP is in London filming a documentary about Frank Sinatra to be broadcast by C4. During a break CP mentioned the Green Dragon in Hereford and how we delight in staying there now after having been thrown out as a teenager (me, not CP!). Suddenly the cameraman said - Who's that then? I'm from Hereford. CP said well you'll know her - she was called Scruff! It was Ray Marlow's turn then to be surprised - Scruff bloody hell yes! Ray since emailed me with news of Hereford homies Tony and Danny (lost and remembered with big love) and Greg and Caz, John and Gill (see them in a photo down below). His brother Mick Marlow was jailed for writing a grow cannabis book and it was Mick and his wife Angie that I remember most.

November 2008 - In Melbourne - spent a couple of great days with Trevor Henwood from Ludlow Primary School (Trevor and his wife became teachers in Leicester and moved to teach in Hobart, Tasmania in the 1970s)

1st March 2009 - In Ludlow - more enjoyable time with Tim Gill from Ludlow Primary School - here with his wife Mary after a wonderful meal at the Waterdine (Tim and Mary have holiday cottages in Ludlow and Chris and I love to stay either at Paul Pry or Horseshoe Cottage - can't recommend them enough - they are holiday heaven! ... Tim and Mary hope to retire to Ludlow one day ... and who wouldn't?!!)

April 2003 - Great to be with Buffin again - here we are at Helter Skelter! Buffin is in Usk now (2006) - Buffin is greatly looking forward to his long-awaited Mott the Hoople reunion gig at the Hammersmith Apollo on 2nd and 3rd October 2009 - Support Mott! - Go see them or get this: Buffin lovingly compiled 4-cd set of Mott - available from Angel Air

We all went to Covent Garden where Tom and Alys played to a massive audience -

In July 2003 we met up with PJ in Hereford (left) and then again in March 2003, along with Mick and Ann Weaver (Richard took the photo!) - and we're with Spanish Mike who came along on the trip with us. Didn't meet up with Simon Gwynne or Tony King on that occasion but we did on 15 October 2005 ...

In 2002 through Friends Reunited I am again in touch with Susan Young from Portcullis, Ludlow days, who sent me the photo below of her with her mum Jean, daughter Laura (front), daughter Sarah and her daughter Georgia. We met up in Birmingham August 2002, then Sue and her Mum Jean came to our house. We keep in regular contact and meet up as often as we can ...We appear together in the Ludlow Primary School below (we know who we are!) and we played so happily at the Portcullis Inn, and on Saturdays we would buy flowers from the market, divide up the bunches to re-sell at exorbitant prices. Our stall was under the pub's "lounge bar" window right next to the bus shelter. We spent most of our earnings on sweets and comics but gave a little to various charities - one, the Fire Services National Benevolent Fund wrote a letter thanking us and it was kept by my mother (keeping things has proved I can appreciate her - definitely for keeping things anyway!)

Ludlow Primary School (1961) - Thanks to Tim Gill and Trevor Henwood everyone has now been identified except for the second name of Elizabeth ?!
email Pam here or you can find more on Facebook - Cp N Pam Lee - so why not all be friends there too!

In 1962 Sue and I went on to Ludlow High School next to the Castle. My brother was already at Ludlow Grammar School and was nicknamed Prof. My nickname at Ludlow was Mouldycheese! Anyway, as a first year I was very proud of my brother Peter who was lead guitarist in a band called Mark Anthony and the Senators - photo below. Bob (on drums) helped move me and parents to Bognor Regis in 1964 (bad bad move) and though I have met up with Jeff Price (on bass) whilst visiting Ludlow (his family ran Price's Bakery on Castle Square). Peter never kept in touch with anyone from Ludlow and I know they would have liked him to but it is perhaps understandable; he must have been crazily sad having no 'home' to go to when he went to Kings College London - and the silly parents didn't stay in Bognor Regis but moved with apparently no sense of caring for either one of us. Peter married Sue a few years after the nomadic publicans left Ludlow so there's a wedding photo there of that occasion, taken at the Bunch of Carrots, Hampton Bishop, near the Green Man. A photograph added next to the Pete/Sue wedding one is of me and Peter in Manchester where my parents ended up in 1970.

I have met up again with Helen Ball and Maggie Wilson, via Buffin, our Terry Griffin from Ross Grammar School - he sent me this next picture below and there are 8 pages of this RGS year photo - copies available upon request!

Also Buffin has sent me photo below, amongst many other treasures, that shows his vg self (pre Mott days indeed!) and on the left is a guy who in 1965 bought me my first engagement ring and then left me for Germany, then America. He may have been born Robert Fisher but he is Fred Fishpool to me, and he remains in my memory as a positive influence and I would love to have caught up with him again. Sad to say that Fooshers, as his many friends mostly called him, passed on in 2000.

In 1972 I went on a strange Canberra cruise (more on cruising soon) ... I'd just left Hereford ...

.. where I'd lived with Mick ... Caz made my dress. John & Gill Currie, Dave and Marvin(?) and then there's Liz Trochanowski who joined me and Mick in Hereford from Notting Hill - she also lived in Amsterdam, went off with Rikki Fataar - I look forward to meeting up again.

But back to Fownhope - Trevor Cusack got in touch through FR. I moan about having gone to four grammar schools - he went to EIGHT and we were fellow passengers on the Fownhope/Ross bus.

Forward to 1972 and to my move to Manchester when I teamed up with Graham Theakston - this is one of his photos.

CP Lee and me got married on 17 August 1991 - happiest times - living in the same house in Manchester ever since. To me, Ludlow is the place that feels like home, although because of friendships made so does Hereford - there are calls for another 'reunion' - meanwhile me and Chris visit when we can - PJ and us spent New Year's Eve/New Year's Day 2008 together, all staying at the Green Dragon. We also visit Ludlow as often as possible and stay at Paul Pry or another cottage owned by schoolfriend Tim Gill and his wife Mary. Sue Payne and her partner John last invited us to stay there overnight with Sue's mum Jean Young in June 2008.

Nick loved Hereford in March 2003, when he joined us with his cousin Max Malden (pictured below). Ludlow Boxing Day 2005 - Chris treated the whole family to dinner at the Michelin-starred Mr Underhills Restaurant in Ludlow.

Here, Tom and Nick are stood in front of a painting (it's THAT big!) of me and CP (by Bob Dickinson).

In 1998 strange to stand outside the house in New Jersey where I lived from 0-3! The address is 48 W Collingswood Avenue, Oaklyn. Ken Malden's business was at 631 White Horse Pike, Oaklyn 6, NJ and on his business card it says M & D Sales Co., Inc. Watches, Jewelry, Television Appliances.
